My abstract work is inspired by interpretive studies of things of the natural world. Don’t Dally was born of a study of an eddy in water, titled Contrary.
The definition of water eddies is “a circular movement of water, counter to a main current, causing a small whirlpool”. In nature, they can theoretically go on indefinitely. The only way to stop them is change.
There are many lessons the natural world can teach us. We as humans too often allow ourselves to be consumed with
the trivialities in life. And like an eddy in water, we can continue on a path going nowhere indefinitely if we allow ourselves. The only way to break free is to change… our way of thinking and acting or reacting.
Don’t Dally on trivialities. Make a change and continue on.
