Acrylic abstract artist, Rosemary Craig's, Distractions

distractions

My abstract work is inspired by impressionist studies of things of the natural world. Distractions was born of a study of an eddy in water titled Contrary, and is part of my series of the same name.

The definition of water eddies is “a circular movement of water, counter to a main current, causing a small whirlpool”. In nature, they can theoretically go on indefinitely. The only way to stop them is change.

Distractions is representative of the numerous distractions we all experience in this life while trying to find our best selves. Obstacles or Distractions can be never ending if we let them. It’s up to us to determine which are worthy of our time and which are excuses for not moving forward.
